ALBA MUSIK is a reimagining of flamenco that fuses the tradition with pop, jazz, funk, Latin, and world music. Based in New York City, the project is led by powerhouse vocalist Bárbara Martínez and virtuoso guitarist Albert Alabedra, who compose their music together and collaborate with an ensemble of world-class musicians and dancers.

What makes ALBA unique is its combination of flamenco’s expressive dance and song with contemporary sounds, improvisation, songwriting and poetry. Bárbara brings the audience with her into each song, breaking language barriers and bringing everyone into the fold of shared experiences and emotions. 

ALBA blends music and dance into a living, breathing experience: poetry in Spanish woven into modern soundscapes, that sound old but new, full of emotion and movement. It’s flamenco as you haven’t seen it before — simultaneously global, contemporary, and deeply human.
